Agawam Center Cemetery
Our beautiful cemetery was established before the United States was a soverign nation. Shortly before being appointed General in the American Revolutionary War, George Washington passed our front gates on Main Street en-route to Cambridge to assume command of the Continental Army in 1775. He again passed by, this time as President, en-route to Boston in 1789 while visiting parts of New England.

Among our interred residents, we provide for the peaceful repose to some of Agawam's founding fathers, their families, and other notable people who were most influential in their day.

When walking through our oldest sections, it is easy to imagine an earlier time when the roads were for horses drawing their carriages. It serves as a wholesome reminder that the past is rich with a history worth preserving, a future worth looking forward to, and a present worth cherishing.
